The upgrade of an item lets players boost the gear rating of an item up 700 points, and then add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded to increase their stats (like an ideally broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a single unit. In certain instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage that a weapon is able to upgrade on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and current level. For example, an +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a gun will increase until it requires more Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons can also change the stats of their base. This is usually a positive factor, but it could also have negative consequences. Upgrades can make things inaccessible, unless you're very lucky.

Upgrades can be made to armor items to improve their effectiveness. This will increase the defense of a chest or helm, while belts and gloves will increase their required strength and agility. Armor also has an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it may roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, along with the relative values of those stats. This means that a weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword.  item upgrading  does not mean that the weapon will strike three times less, since it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button in the item menu using the circling arrows. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats, but not reset the weapon's level or connect it to an account's status.

Armor

A few tweaks to your armor could make a a huge difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, making it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the greater defense you can offer your character, the greater health you'll gain from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.

To improve your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and to unlock them all, you have to complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. After you've completed your main quest and the associated fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. In general, you're looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. For example the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a decent-sized group of adversaries in most cold climates and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to withstand the full-on assault with a few friends.

Be aware that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll want to concentrate on upgrading it for physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you'll wear to fight the final boss and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also unlock some perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll generally want to save these upgrades for the weapon that you'll use to beat the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have some upgrades for the chest armor and helmets to allow you to sneak around some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, give an immediate effect. There are five types of potions that have different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, enhancing their level of effect. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.

Potion upgrades cost a certain amount of XP. This can be earned by crafting them on a table or the Alchemist's chest. The price of upgrades is dependent on the type of potion you want to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and Rarity.

To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI that allows you to select the potion you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they will give you when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP that they generate will be added to your current XP total.

Once a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade unless you make use of it again or break the bottle in the container it is kept. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.

Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the mechanics of potions. For example, splash potions now have an average duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds displayed on the item hover display). The table of potion constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can now be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. Similarly, using a potion on a full cauldron, it drains the contents and refills the bottle.

Finally, there are lingering potions, which are made with splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to enhance their effects. The table of potion ingredients is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping and the decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket could be an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece of jewelry. It could be a reference to an object or decoration that serves a function but is not particularly important like a tiny thimble. In some traditions, trinkets are used to signify friendship or affection, especially between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be exchanged at any time without losing statistics.

Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.

Upgrading a trinket is an affordable alternative to buying new ones. It can be done by the player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as previous one, and will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

Trinkets can be upgraded when they are no longer needed which allows a player to boost their power and value over time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.

Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This means that the best-in slot items for each class are upgraded first before their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment that won't be replacing in the near future (such as a ring or an cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when choosing the items to upgrade. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks, they should prioritize upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and helm.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl once they're no longer needed, and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will cause the trinket to be destroyed until it is salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying a new one.
