An Easy-To-Follow Guide To Item Upgrades
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The item upgrade feature lets players upgrade their existing equipment. This can be done by any upgrader of items NPC.
Generally, upgrades increase an item's main stat and can give it additional benefits based on the type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs and Goldwrap for build casters.
Armour
Link's armor is an essential element in keeping him safe from harm. While it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, it is possible to improve its defence capabilities in a variety of ways.
Armour is designed to shield animals or people from injury or harm, whether it's from a direct physical attack or a variety of hazards posed by the environment or activities. In the past, armour was primarily made from fabric or leather, but later metal protections were also used, especially in military applications like heavy cavalry and combat drones.
As with weapons there are a variety of ways in which armor can be upgraded however, most of them will require a visit to one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a distinct level of upgrade and higher levels of protection requiring more rupees and materials.
The first thing to remember about Armor Upgrades is they are permanent upgrades and after they've been put in place, they cannot be replaced unless there is another piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. It is crucial to only apply the most effective level of upgrades to your equipment and that you have enough of the necessary materials to complete them.
You will find the upgrades you require in a variety of locations throughout Hyrule. These include merchants, shrines and even enemies. They are usually marked with an gold circle or blue triangle symbol and will be available in large numbers as you advance through the game. While they may appear randomly, there is an opportunity that acquiring certain upgrade components will lead to quests that reward you with more.
It's important to keep in mind that, even though the level provided by each upgrade may differ, it will always be greater than nothing. A complete set of upgraded armor will give you a powerful defense boost that will protect against any kind of attack, except magic. This makes it an effective weapon for any class.
Weapons
You can upgrade your guns by using special upgrades to create a truly unique weapon. These upgrades can increase the damage or change the stats of the weapon in accordance with your particular build. They also allow new attachments such as unique enchantments, different kinds of ammunition, and aesthetic options.
You'll require both the upgrade component as well as the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon must also be above a certain level for the upgrade to take effect and most weapons only take one upgrade at a time.
Weapon upgrade components are available scattered throughout the world, from a variety of sources, including merchants or enemies. The upgrade components themselves are a combination of components that can be slotted into weapons, armor trinkets and gathering tools to give an attribute bonus or other impact while they're being used. They require equipment to be of a certain degree to be able to take the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same way as other items.
Upgrades are a combination of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They are used to enhance the stats of weapons and increase their effectiveness in comparison to other stats. They can be obtained from enemies dropped in the open world, purchased from certain merchants, or obtained through drops during combat.
There are two NPCs that can upgrade your weapons: Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs will take your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a more powerful version of the weapon as well as an enhancement.
Prioritize upgrading your best-in slot items first. Then, upgrade the items that you aren't likely to replace anytime soon. If you're planning on playing a melee build, for instance upgrade your weapon first, then your shoulders and chest followed by your hands and feet. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. However, depending on the style you play, certain procs will be more beneficial than others. The same is true for Armour and reforges, with some being superior to others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one magic item at a time. If an upgrade project has been canceled, no further upgrades will be offered for that item. Upgraded magic items cost twice the amount of gold to create or purchase, but they can offer other benefits.
A magical item is an item that has some special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, however some are also shields, armor as well as cloaks, potions rings, scrolls, and other items. Some of these items can be converted into a sentient.
Most magic items can enhance their capabilities. This makes them more useful to a player, or it can aid them in overcoming any difficult situation. A weapon infused with some special substance could be able to provide an extra level of damage to a particular kind of enemy. This is especially useful for characters that have reached a level where they are likely to encounter the same kind of monster in dungeons repeatedly.
A ring that is infused with magic may grant immunity to nonmagical attacks that bludgeon, pierce, or slash (excluding attacks that are silvered) until the character takes another long rest. This is especially useful for melee fighters or anyone looking to avoid buying an armor.
Some enchanted objects have special powers that allow the character to cast spells that are not on their list of classes. This is beneficial for characters who have trouble filling their spell slots because of multiclassing. These items with enchanted abilities typically require an Intelligence (Arcana) check to use, and the spell is determined by rolling on an array of tables determined by the number of Intelligence points used.
Other items that can be enchanted may allow the user to alter their appearance, or even create a new appearance. These items are particularly useful for characters who were forced to leave their home, or are in a location that they might not be welcome. A magical item could provide them with an invisibility effect, or even make them invisible to anyone but a select few.
Utility Items
Utility items are equipment that do not fall under the categories of Armor, Clothing or Weapons and offer a range of different capabilities. Unlike Armor and Weapons and Clothing, no utility item can conflict with another. The majority of utility items have a passive effect that the player can activate when using them. Some have additional abilities that are activated by pressing a button or activating the skill.
The Flashlight is the most popular accessory. It is used to illuminate the area around it. Other items that are useful include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player float in mid-air while moving, and the Jetpack which allows the player to accelerate in any directions while on the ground. Many utility items can be instantly manufactured in the Engineering section while others are unlockable through research projects or experimental projects in the Proving Ground.
Players can unlock more powerful utility items in addition to the items they have in their usual inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Certain of these items can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness.
Most utility items give the player a navigational advantage or increase the effectiveness of a particular combat skill. Sharpening stones, made by the Weaponsmith will increase power and Ferocity, while Maintenance Oils, made by a Huntsman, increase Concentration and healing power. Other utility items, such as Writs and Theses created by the Scribe, can be used to give players either a boost in Damage or Condition Damage.
XCOM soldiers can equip a single utility item to begin the campaign. An additional slot is available after the completion of certain research, engineering, or experimental projects on the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are created by equipping the Grenade Launcher which lets the player equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot while an offensive grenade is equipped in the main grenade slot.
